Rainy Day Updates!

September is here! In BC this means it's time to bust out the umbrellas and rain boots- or in my case, persevere with totally inappropriate footwear and run like a maniac between sheltered areas so that I don't always look like a drowned rat. It also means that the creations featured in this post are probably the last of the summery things to come out of my kitchen- as soon as fall hits and the rain starts, I just want to make giant pots of tea and bake cold-weather treats to feed everyone (like these warm buttermilk raisin scones!)

Triple Berry Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream Petals!
Flavoured with blueberries, blackberries, & raspberries- perfect late summer treat!

This is what you get when you ask for a "Trivial Pursuit Baby Shower Cake"

I love decorating baby shower cakes and cakes for small children
with "stitched" fondant shapes- it's simple and whimsical.

This teddy bear really didn't want to sit up straight- the muggy early
September afternoon didn't do his posture any favours either!

It's A Boy! Cream Cheese Buttercream wrapped around a 3-layer
double chocolate cookies and cream cake...

Classic Wedding Roses on vanilla bean cupcakes

So simple and pretty.

It took FOREVER to decide on a plan for this cake- after multiple attempts
at creating hot bikini babes for this 19th birthday cake and ending up with
what looked more like teletubbies in swimsuits, I settled on a theme:
"19th Bithday Party- The Aftermath"

balloons, speakers, red solo cups, boxers....

Underwear and empty tequila bottles....yup.

oh Patron.

yuuup

Beer funnels- don't try this at home.

19!

Chocolate Cupcakes with Strawberry Cream Cheese Frosting!

And of course, glitter.

Owl Cake for the graduation of a die-hard Elvis fan!
